Community
Now that you have an understanding of how the courses work, it’s time to talk about sharing your work and getting feedback. This can be done in the Flex Lessons community.
The community is essentially a private forum, complete with topics and posts. This is a great place to be asking questions, discussing music related topics, and sharing your progress.
Here are a few really important things you need to know about this community:
This community is filled with kind and supportive people who are on the same journey that you are! This is a no-nonsense place to talk about music and support one another. It’s a very safe place to ask your questions and share your work. If you don’t believe me, check out some of the posts and responses!
You can upload audio and video recordings! And you should! You will absolutely require feedback in order to become a skilled musician. You should try to get feedback as early on as you can!
I will personally review every post and provide feedback when applicable. If you post a recording, I will review it and tell you what you need to know. I may even create a video for you!
You should try to post regularly. You might think something is done when I would feel otherwise. Alternatively, you might be waiting around on a piece or exercise that you really could move on from. Please allow me to be to be involved in your training! After all, that's a major perk to this program. Also, you don't know what you don't know, so let me help!
You can upload as often as you like! Some members choose to share every single piece, scale, and exercise they have worked on. This means they will get lots of feedback! Others may only choose to share things that they are struggling with. I will usually respond within a day to a few days, depending on how busy I am.
You can view other members’ audio and video recordings. This is a great way to get a sense of how others are doing and the feedback they receive. You are encouraged to share constructive feedback as well!
As the creator of this program, the community is easily my favorite part! I think you will find all sorts of support and inspiration when you use this feature.
