Course Introduction & FAQ
In this course, you will encounter a list of exercises from Czerny Op. 599. Each of these exercises will help you to practice and perfect some musical or technical challenge.
We will start with Exercise #11.
I have included public domain editions of each of these exercises. However, feel free to purchase an edition if you prefer. If you decide to purchase, I recommend the Schirmer Performance Edition because of its straight forward approach to fingering. With that said, I will be using the public scores for any demonstrations.
Recommendations
You should work to master each exercise and then move on to the next one. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
You can work on more than one exercise at a time if your practice allows for it.
The slow counting demonstration videos will show you generally what to expect with each exercise.
You should aim to exceed the tempo of the video example for each exercise.
Each exercise can usually be broken down into short sections consisting of 4 measures…use this to divide up your practice.
Bring each exercise up to tempo and then practice it for a few more days before letting it go.
These exercises do not replace scale and arpeggio practice!
