Zoom 40 minute 1-2-1 limit! 😱

I just noticed after my online drum lesson today that there's now a 40 minute limit on 1-2-1 Zoom lessons! This is rough news for me as I use Zoom for all my online lessons. I'd like to try FaceTime since it now works on all devices, not just Apple, and is free! The audio also seems quite good and supports AAC quality I believe. The only problem is I can't find a scheduling tool that supports FaceTime. I'd be interested to see what other teachers are doing, is it worth it just to pay for Zoom?

For the time being, I have chosen to pay for Zoom. I am a massive Apple fan, but I don't enjoy using FaceTime for lessons as I have pretty much zero control over my setup. I have no expectation that a service such as Zoom should continue to be free forever. Honestly, I am quite surprised we didn't have to pay all this time.

However, now that Zoom is paid, we should probably compare it to some of the other paid options out there.

Edit: I did want to mention that I am really surprised that Zoom snuck up on us with that announcement. Even though I don't mind paying, I am surprised at how little time I had to prepare.
